it's a BOY!

No worries, I'm not having a baby... but I *am* finally a dog owner! Introducing Nicholas, aka Nico.

He's about a year old, a beagle mix, and sooo sweet. I adopted him from HART and he's happy to be in a forever home, but still a little scared and adjusting to the new environment... although he has adjusted quite well to my couch! When he's not curled up in a ball napping, he loves belly rubs and shedding his hair all over my condo :p

It's been a pretty interesting experience so far. Overall, he's pretty good. He's only eliminated outside and hasn't chewed anything inside the house, although he has tried to steal a flip flop. He slept well in his crate the first night although the second night he started crying in the middle of the night.

It was torture leaving him this morning to go to work. He just kept crying and barking. My neighbors are going to hate me. (Granted, they are always super loud, so they should know what it feels like for me, but a dog barking non-stop is hard core.) He'll be so happy when I return during lunch and later on tonight!

He loves to nap on the couch. He just sleeps and sleeps! He's motivated to play if other dogs are around or in a big yard with me and my brothers running around with him. He hasn't quite learned to walk a straight line. My plan is to prepare him to run with me when it gets warm again.

He is also highly motivated if peanut butter is involved!
